One of the things I’ve been thinking about lately is the nature of politics as it relates to gardening. Yeah, I know – many of you go to your gardens to avoid politicians and the realities surrounding us in the lifestyle we’ve crafted for ourselves.
For make no mistake, we craft our own lifestyles from the accumulated weight of our life decisions. Our votes, our involvement in our social world, all accumulate to bring about decisions that slowly weigh on us.
For example, there is an uncertainty in North America about the economy, about safety, about the general state of the universe unfolding in a different way – a different story than we were told should happen.

There seems to be a mystique about how to prune or deadhead perennials with many gardeners hesitating to take the shears to their garden plants. The major thing to pass along (beside the two basic kinds of pruning systems for perennials) is that you aren’t really going to kill a plant by making a mistake on pruning. You might make it “ugly” for one season or part of a growing season but it will recover. So watch the video, then take a deep breath – go out to the garden and start deadheading.

Those us in the Net-media understand that our words and images are copied fairly regularly. I’ve had images from my websites stolen before and used on other sites (including garden writers and newspapers) but never have I had my own picture copied and used on another site as somebody else
Here it is. Now do I look like Chris Field to you? Not only that but I’m not a “full time HOTiculturalist” (and yeah, it’s horticulturist)
And yeah, I’ve had people use my images after somebody stole it and sold the image to an image-bank (and then the unwitting person purchased it) but I’ve never had somebody decide to look like me and actually use my pic for themselves.
I hav
